The Professional Clothing Closet gives students the opportunity to select professional clothing appropriate for attending job fairs and interviews. This service is free to all students and graciously funded 100% by contributions from the community.
We gladly accept timeless pieces of all sizes, preferably purchased in the last five years and appropriate for professional interviewing.
Items must be in good, fresh condition; preferably on hangers.

Pantsuits or skirt suits- Blazers or sports coats
- Nice blouses or shirts
- Professional dresses or skirts
- Professional ties
- Belts
- Suit scarves
- Dress socks
- Dress shoes or closed-toe heels
- Handbags
Additional Items
- Suit coat clothes hangers
- Plastic hangers
- Suit/travel garment bags
Students may select items that serve their interview needs and they may keep them permanently.
Hours
Monday - Friday; 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Drop Point
Please call our office at 618.453.2391 to ask for unloading assistance. We will be glad to send someone out curbside to assist. Of course, you are always welcome to visit us and the closet anytime.
Financial Donations
Maintaining the care of items donated until selected by a deserving student can become costly over time. Any assistance from employers to help maintain the closet is welcome. If you would like to contribute to the closet financially, please contact sheila.colombo@siu.edu or 618.453.2391.
