Students talking to employer at SIU job fair

Job Fairs

The Center hosts a job and internship fair every February and September, and a part-time job fair in August.

Spring 2020 Job and Internship Fair

February 18, 2020 | 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | SIU Student Center Ballrooms

This fair is for students seeking internships or professional positions. Over 125 employers attended last year and they were actively recruiting in a variety of fields. Professional dress and resumes are required. Log-in to your Hire A Saluki account frequently for an updated, real-time, list of employers.

  • Reverse Fair | Monday, February 17 | 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This event is held the evening before the Fall Job and Internship Fair in a less formal, more relaxed environment. Opposite of a traditional career fair, employers walk thru the student exhibits and learn about their projects. Students engage employers and answer questions about their work. Past projects have included the moon buggy, formula racecar, rocketeering team and many more.

Saluki Student Job Fair

This fair is for students interested in part-time employment in the area or on-campus. SIU Departments seeking student employees, along with local employers, are on hand to meet with students. The event is traditionally held the first week of class in the fall semester. We had 48 employers and 361 students attend in Fall 2019.
